BASE Rack Wiring
Traditionally wiring for accessories fitted to roof racks has involved wiring going up windscreens, up out of B pillar door gaps and the like. As part of the ARB BASE Rack development ARB’s engineers have developed a wiring solution to neatly get wiring from inside the vehicle through the vehicle or canopy roof.
Two wiring kits have been developed. One kit is pre-wired with 6 wires (3 circuits) preinstalled to ensure sealed wiring. (1780400) The second kit has provision for 6 wires allowing differing wiring depending on customer requirements. (1780410)
BASE Rack Wiring removal and resealing kit – PN 1780620 A resealing kit has been developed under PN 1780620 for when the rack or wiring needs to be removed and the wiring resealed.
The kit includes:
- Boot cover moulding
- Rigid moulding insert blank
- Wiring grommet nut
- O-Ring
To use, wiring will need to be disconnected within the vehicle, rubber boot and nut removed from outside the vehicle roof and wiring pulled through the wiring base installed in the vehicle roof. The 1780620 kit is then installed with O-Ring, grommet and nut installed to the roof mounted base. This is then capped off with the cover boot for a neat and sealed finish.
